When you buy a globe, you want it to remain looking brand new.
Keep in mind that our globes feature a special coating specifically designed to protect the globe sphere and enhance its beautiful appearance. Dust can be removed easily with a dry cloth. For smudges and fingerprints, you probably will want to use a lightly damp cloth to gently remove them. For greater marks, we recommend a mild, non-abrasive cleanser.
When cleaning your globe, do not not use household or industrial cleaning products that contain alcohol or any type of solvent. These can fade the detailed colors, text, and images of your globe, and cause damage to your globe's surface itself.
For that special Gemstone Globes. These beautiful specialty globes require special care and cleaning. Cleansers or polishers with chemicals damage the globe's surface and stand. Use only a soft cloth lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol to remove fingerprints and raise the sparkle and shine of your gemstone globe. Do not use rubbing alcohol on the globe's stand, as it can cause dryness and fading.
For the gemstone globe stand, a soft cotton cloth with a small amount of hand lotion works well. The emollients of the lotion condition and clean the stand.
